Slam offs with Mr. howitt's class.
Today we had to do our slam poems, and even though I thought mine was terrible, it turned out I won along with 2 other kids on my table. One was Camille, and the other was Sabine. All in all, the kids that won were Caroline, Maddy, Sabine, Camille, Me, Nakul, Harrisen, and George. That was before we knew anything about facing Mr. Howitt's class. We were coming back from lunch when our teacher, Mr. Buxton, announced that we were going to face our slams off with another class, which, and would you know it, turned out to be Mr. Howitt's class. We really started with our weaker poems, which we did 2 In a row because nobody was rising to the challenge from their class. That was until Joshua broke the deadlock that was holding them back. They had a few strong ones, like Maggie's and Bo Song's poems. Our class lashed out with strong retorts as Maddy and Sabine recited their poems, everybody thought they were great. That was when Ishaan D from the other class went loose, His poem was one of the best I have ever seen. They had no advantage over us at that point, then it was Harrisen's turn, and his poem, Ghetto was AWESOME. Then I came up and performed a poem like I normally do, step up, let my knees tremble, and let my voice take me into a different world. But then Mr. howitt became so impressed, but I forgot one big thing, writing the author, me. Mr. Howitt wondered who I was. I am very happy, because about a weeks time we will have the poetry party, and I cant wait to recite all these poems.
